Karen Gavrilov (owner of Red Pearl Yoga) and I mutually attended a yoga retreat at Pura Vida.  We were surprised at the "souvenir shop" in place of the "boutique" you'd expect to find at a retreat center and spa.  We negotiated a redesign of the space and flew out the very next summer to execute our plan. We were very careful to carry over the rustic feel and colors of the grounds and dwellings.  Most of our time was spent editing out the average gift shop items and scouring Costa Rica for dress forms, furniture and decor.

Red Pearl Yoga- 
Renovation Project Manager
Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Red Pearl Yoga was a small room sharing a space with a jujitsu school on the second floor of a small office building.  A year after I began teaching for Red Pearl the owner expressed an interest in taking over the entire second floor.  After months of research and planning we decided to move forward with the project.  This project involved demolishing and rebuilding a series of walls, patching and painting, installing flooring and lighting and collaborating with the owner on the new design of the space.  We completed this renovation with the assistance of a couple of skilled professionals and volunteers trading hours for free yoga classes.  As project manager I coordinated, oversaw and participated in all aspects of this project.  We completed this renovation in 11 days to accommodate an upcoming workshop.
