Yin Yang Yoga

This practice starts off with long held Yin Yoga postures to address stiffness and blockages in the body that limit range of motion.  Just like our yin practice we want the muscles to start cold so we can get deep into the connective tissue.  What makes this yin yang??? Through breath and movement we will eventually warm the body building strength and stability using Yang versions of these same yin postures or others that complement our yin practice. A yang practice places emphasis on muscular activation and takes the emphasis out of the joints.  So, here we work on the mobility and health of the yin and yang body in unison.  The plan is to give the body a chance to open and wake up a little before establishing demands.  Our Yin Yang practice will be one of slow, mindful and physically demanding postures that will be designed collectively by instructor and students alike.  The class ends with restful restorative postures to return us to a yin state.  As with Yin this class is suitable for all levels including beginners and those recovering from injuries.
